On May 29, 2024, under the joint witness of the two heads of state, Zheng Hajie, Director of the National Development and Reform Commission of China, and Shukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, on behalf of their respective governments, officially signed the Cooperation Plan between the Government of the People's Republic of China and the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt on Jointly Promoting the Construction of the Belt and Road.
