It was learned on June 5, 2024 that the South African Redstone 100MW tower solar thermal power station project was contracted by Shandong Electric Power Construction Company No. 3 EPC. It has recently ushered in a critical stage of progress and successfully completed the preheating and pouring of salt into the cold molten salt tank. work, which marks that the commissioning of the molten salt system of the project has been fully launched.
The successful completion of the cold molten salt tank preheating and salt pouring work is of immeasurable importance to the debugging of the project's lava system and the improvement of construction safety and quality. This achievement not only effectively reduced the potential risks caused by temperature factors during the debugging of the cold salt tank system, but also laid a solid and stable foundation for the subsequent smooth entry of molten salt into the light tower, SGS system and overall debugging and operation.
South Africa's Redstone 100MW tower solar thermal power plant project is located in the Northern Cape Province of South Africa. As the country's largest tower solar thermal power plant project, upon completion it will significantly meet the power needs of approximately 200,000 South African households. This landmark project will not only advance South Africa’s transition to clean energy, it will also help reduce dependence on fossil fuels, drastically cut carbon emissions and combat the challenges posed by climate change.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
