On June 10, 2024, it was learned that the Ningxia Tiandushan 750 kV substation construction project, which was undertaken by the State Grid Chongqing Engineering Company, held a grand groundbreaking ceremony and successfully carried out the first pilot of foundation construction. This important milestone marks the official start of the main civil construction of the first new substation with a 750 kV steel structure in Ningxia in the "Ningdian into Hunan" project.

Located in Zhongwei City, Ningxia, the Ningxia Tiandushan 750 kV substation construction project covers a vast area of about 15.5 hectares. The main construction content of the project includes the construction of a new Tiandushan 750 kV substation and the installation of two main transformers with a capacity of 2.1 million kVA. In addition, 6 750 kV outgoing lines and 10 330 kV outgoing lines will be built, and the total length of the new lines involved will reach 45 kilometers. The scale of this project is huge and is of great significance to improving the power transmission capacity in Ningxia.

As the core link of power transmission and grid reinforcement, this project is also an important step in promoting the development strategy of new energy bases in deserts, Gobi and wasteland areas. After the project is put into operation, it will not only greatly optimize the allocation of advantageous energy resources in Ningxia, but also significantly improve the power supply guarantee capacity in Hunan, further increase the proportion of clean energy in the energy consumption structure, and promote the widespread use of clean energy.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
