On June 15, 2024, the four-ring module of the nuclear island steel containment cylinder of Unit 3 of Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant successfully completed the lifting operation and was accurately installed in the predetermined position.
The steel containment, a key part of Unit 3 of Haiyang Nuclear Power Plant, is a tight structure composed of six modules: bottom head, four ring cylindrical cylinders and top head. As a vital safety line to prevent the release of radioactive materials, the structure is designed with extreme precision. Among them, the four-ring part of the cylinder is particularly prominent, its inner diameter reaches 39.624 meters, the height is 7.766 meters, and the total weight is more than 745.63 tons. This part is composed of two layers of 24 elaborately made curved steel plates and 12 ring crane beams.
In order to hoist the behemoth precisely to the desired position, the engineering team used a 3,200-ton crawler crane. The whole lifting process began at 6:17, after the hook, hover, accurate rotation and walking, smooth fall and meticulous adjustment steps, and finally completed at 7:59, taking only 1 hour and 42 minutes. The whole lifting process is not only safe, but also orderly, and every step is strictly controlled.
In the lifting process, 3200 tons of crawler crane was used, and the whole lifting process lasted 1 hour and 42 minutes, which was safe, orderly and controllable. This not only demonstrates China's strong technical strength in the field of nuclear power construction, but also reflects the project team's ability in construction management, equipment operation and risk control. As an important safety barrier for nuclear power plant to prevent the leakage of radioactive materials, the quality of steel containment is very important. The successful completion of the four-ring lifting of the cylinder ensures the integrity and reliability of the containment, and improves the safety of the nuclear power plant.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
