On June 14, 2024, the world's largest wind power test platform was put into operation at the Yancheng Shanghai Electric Wind Power Binhai Base, and the first unit was offline at the same time.

The wind power test platform was invested and built by Shanghai Electric Group and is the world's largest wind power test platform to date. The platform covers the entire technical route, multiple components and systems of wind turbines, and shows many outstanding characteristics such as large test capacity, multiple test types, and strong test functions, becoming a veritable "first in the industry and the world's largest". At the same time, a standardized test verification process is established to ensure the reliability of the product throughout its life cycle through cutting-edge test equipment, advanced test technology, and optimized test processes. The commissioning of the test platform not only provides a solid guarantee for the efficient and stable operation of large megawatt units, but also provides strong support for the high-quality development of my country's wind power industry. The first unit of the base was successfully rolled off the production line. In the future, it will be able to form the manufacturing capacity of 8MW to 20MW offshore wind turbines every year, which can meet the development needs of Jiangsu Province's offshore wind power, and provide strong support for the research and development and trial production of deep-sea large-megawatt models under state management.

In recent years, our city has implemented the "dual carbon strategy" in earnest. The Binhai Port area of the Huanghai New District is accelerating the creation of a "blue plate" with distinctive energy characteristics in the northern wing of the Yangtze River Delta, and the scale of power in production and construction has reached 9.346 million kilowatts. Among them, the installed capacity of wind power is 1.853 million kilowatts, the planned capacity is 10.6 million kilowatts, and the offshore wind power resources that can be developed during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period are 4 million kilowatts; a 130,000-square-meter wind power equipment supporting industrial park has been built, the Haili offshore wind power project has been accelerated, and the 5,000-ton self-propelled full-revolving crane ship "Zhongtian 39" of Liyang Offshore Wind Power Operation and Maintenance has been officially put into operation. The construction of the offshore wind power mother port has been accelerated, and the wind power industry chain covering "R&D design-equipment manufacturing-resource development-operation and maintenance services" is accelerating.Editor/Zhao E
