On June 21, 2024, the Hangzhou Fangxingdu Micro-Vacation Cultural Tourism Complex Project officially started construction, marking an important step for Hangzhou in the integrated development of the cultural tourism industry. The project is located in Xingqiao Street, Linping District, with a superior geographical location and pleasant surrounding environment. It will become a comprehensive cultural tourism destination integrating tourism, culture, leisure and entertainment.

The total land area of the Fangxingdu project is 616,000 square meters, which is divided into four functional areas: Tourism Distribution Service Center, Ouhuazhou Songyun Cultural Center, High-end Zen Meditation Center and Banjingguan Conference Center. These functional areas will provide a full range of services and experiences, including food, accommodation, entertainment, parent-child study and online celebrity check-in, etc., to meet the diverse needs of tourists.

The project will deeply explore the profound canal culture and Song Dynasty cultural heritage of Linping District, combine the unique mountain and lake resources, and present a panoramic and immersive Linping cultural IP experience to tourists through historical restoration and re-creation. In particular, the prosperous scene of Fangxingdu, the first ferry in Hangzhou in the Southern Song Dynasty, will be reproduced here, allowing tourists to travel through time and space and experience the prosperity and charm of that era.

The Fangxingdu project is committed to becoming an immersive experience center for Song Dynasty culture in the Yangtze River Delta, an integrated base for the micro-short drama industry, and a phenomenal micro-vacation cultural and tourism destination in Hangzhou. Through the construction of this project, the unique charm of cultural Linping in the new era will be further demonstrated, and the prosperity and development of the cultural and tourism industry in Linping District and even Hangzhou will be promoted.

In addition, the project will also build cultural facilities such as Wang Meng Thatched Cottage and Wang Meng Theme Exhibition Hall at the foot of Huanghe Mountain, where Wang Meng, a great calligrapher and painter in the Yuan Dynasty, lived in seclusion. At the same time, it will design mountain and lakeside greenways, and open up car tours and cruise routes to enrich tourists' cultural and tourism experience. These measures will further enhance the cultural connotation and attractiveness of the project, making it a new highlight of the cultural and tourism industry in Hangzhou and even the Yangtze River Delta.
