Recently, the highly anticipated Luzhai-Qinzhou Port Highway (Liuzhou-Qintang Section) (Laibin Section) project has obtained the official approval of the construction land procedures. This progress marks that the project has entered the substantive construction stage. The approval of this project not only injects new impetus into the improvement of the transportation network in Guangxi, but also is a key link in Guangxi's implementation of the national strategic highway network planning (2018-2030).

As an important part of the north-south corridor of Longitudinal 5, this project starts from Xiaotaiyang Village, Yunjiang Town, Xiangzhou County, Laibin City, intersecting with Wuzhou-Liuzhou Expressway and Wuzhou-Leye Highway (Yufeng-Yizhou Section), and runs through Chuanshan Town, Liujiang District, Liuzhou City, Yunjiang Town, Maping Town, Shilong Town, Dawan Town, Zhenglong Township, Mengcun Town, Sishan Town, Shiya Town, Xingbin District, as well as Zhangmu Town, Shanbei Township, Menggong Town, Qintang District, Guigang City, and finally intersecting with Guigang-Longan Expressway and connecting to Guigang City West Outer Ring Expressway.

The total length of the highway project is 123.397 kilometers, of which the newly built mileage reaches 110.357 kilometers, and the part co-linear with Hezhou-Bama Expressway is 13.04 kilometers long. The project is designed as a two-way four-lane with a design speed of up to 120 kilometers per hour. The total investment budget approved by the construction drawing design is about 12.746 billion yuan. The construction of this project will greatly improve the traffic convenience of the areas along the route and promote the development of the regional economy.

There are 11 interchanges along the entire line, including Taiyang, Dong'an, Longping, Dawan, Yaocun, Honghe, Mengcun, Baihu, Shiya, Shanbei, Yaoshan, etc., of which 6 are hub interchanges. The setting of these interchanges will greatly optimize the traffic flow and improve the efficiency of road traffic, and also bring great convenience to the people along the line.

Through the construction of this project, the transportation network in Guangxi will be further improved, which is of great significance to promote the economic and social development of the areas along the line and strengthen regional connectivity. At the same time, the project will also provide strong support for the implementation of the National Strategic Expressway Network Plan (2018-2030) in Guangxi and promote the sustainable development of transportation in Guangxi.Editor/Cheng Ting
