Recently, the Chuanzhusi-Hongyuan Expressway in Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture has obtained a land pre-examination and site selection opinion letter issued by the Sichuan Provincial Department of Natural Resources. The preliminary design draft of the project has also been completed and is expected to be submitted for approval by the end of August, striving to achieve control within the year. The Chuanzhusi-Hongyuan Expressway is an important part of the provincial expressway from Jiuzhaigou to Markang. After completion, it will connect the two major airports, Hongyuan and Jiuzhaigou. It will also be a fast passage from Hongyuan to Markang City, the capital of Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture.

The project starts from Nianduoba, Baozuo Township, Ruoergai County, Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture. The starting point is Nianduoba hub and connects the Langmusi to Chuanzhusi expressway. It passes through Sedi Town, Maiwa Township, Amu Township, Hongyuan County, Hongyuan County The county seat ends at Anqu Town, Hongyuan County, and the southern hub of An District is set up to connect Jiuzhi to Malkang Expressway. The route has a total length of 130.5 kilometers, two-way four lanes, a design speed of 100 kilometers per hour, and a bridge-to-tunnel ratio of approximately 32%.
