On September 2, 2024, Chongqing Public Resources Trading Network released the "Announcement of Winning Candidates for the Preliminary Survey and Design of the Fuling North Ring Section of the G5021 Shiyu Expressway", the details are as follows:

Project Overview

Construction scale: As a key component of G5021 Shiyu Expressway, this project starts from the eastern section of the Fuling River of G69 Yinbai Expressway/G5021 Shiyu Expressway, extends westward across the Yangtze River, and finally connects to the Shuimotan section of the G9909 Chongqing Metropolitan Ring Road, and plans to connect the Lidu to Xinmiao section of the Fuling Ring Expressway. The total length of the project is about 30.1 kilometers, of which bridges and tunnels account for 44.38%, the total investment is estimated to reach 7.687 billion yuan, the construction and installation cost is about 4.012 billion yuan, and the average cost per kilometer is about 255 million yuan.

Technical standards: The total length of the project is about 30.1 kilometers, the design speed is 100 kilometers / h, the width of the roadbed is set at 26 meters, the standard construction of two-way four-lane expressway is adopted, and the Fuling Yangtze River Railway Bridge across the Yangtze River is a two-way six-lane bridge, with a main span of 736 meters and a total bridge length of 1347.6 meters.

Main project scale: The scope of this bidding covers about 28.752 kilometers of road sections except for the Fuling Yangtze River Highway and Railway Bridge, including 12 bridges (with a total length of 6.649 kilometers), 4 tunnels (with a total length of 5.36 kilometers), and 5 interchanges (including 3 hub interchanges and 2 general interchanges), and 1 service area (combined with Yum Interchange). Key control projects include the interconnection of key hubs such as Qingxi, Qiqu, Baisheng, Fuling North and Shuimotan, as well as extra-large bridges such as Lanma Village, Baofeng Temple and Xinwuwan, as well as tunnels such as Zhengyong, Lanma and Nifeng, all of which demonstrate the technical challenges and construction scale of the project.

The starting point of the project to the K5+300 section is the railway co-linear influence section of the Yangtze River Bridge, which shares the bridge position with the proposed Yuyi high-speed railway, and its design standards and schemes need to be jointly confirmed by the design units of both the highway and the railway. The survey and design work of the Fuling Yangtze River Railway Bridge will be responsible for the railway party and will not be included in the scope of this bidding. Therefore, the investment estimate of this bidding project is about 6.111 billion yuan.
