On September 29, 2024, it was learned from Kunming Customs that as of August 2024, the China Myanmar oil and gas pipeline had transported over 100 million tons of crude oil and natural gas to China.
In 2013 and 2017, the China Myanmar natural gas pipeline and the China Myanmar crude oil pipeline were successively opened and put into operation. The China Myanmar natural gas pipeline and the China Myanmar crude oil pipeline run parallel on two tracks, starting from the east coast of the Indian Ocean in the west, crossing Myanmar, and entering from Ruili, Yunnan. They connect to the domestic oil and gas pipeline network and radiate to multiple provinces such as Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, and Guangdong. They provide a new southwest path for China's diversified oil and gas import pattern, promote the economic development of Southwest China, and enhance the interconnection of China's oil and gas industry with neighboring countries.
Since the opening of the China Myanmar oil and gas pipeline, Kunming Customs has continued to promote the construction of a smart customs, relying on the Regional Oil and Gas Testing Center Laboratory of the General Administration of Customs (Ruili) to accurately collect information on the quality of crude oil and natural gas varieties, understand various indicator parameters, and strictly control the quality and safety of imported pipeline energy transportation.
