On October 9, 2024, it was announced that SEG Solar, a US solar photovoltaic manufacturer headquartered in Texas, has started building a vertically integrated solar photovoltaic industrial park in Indonesia. The park has the ability to produce 5GW of silicon ingots, wafers, cells, and modules annually, and is expected to become the largest comprehensive photovoltaic manufacturing project in Indonesia after production.

This photovoltaic complex is located in the Kawasan Industri Terpadu Batang area of Central Java Province, Indonesia. The first phase of the project will construct 10 advanced n-type solar cell production lines, with a designed annual production capacity of 5GW, and is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2025.

SEG Solar also revealed that it will work with multiple photovoltaic component suppliers to jointly promote the construction of manufacturing projects such as silicon wafers, silicon ingots, junction boxes, frames, and EVA films, aiming to help Indonesia build a complete photovoltaic industry chain.Editor/Zhang Liyuan
