The Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage has passed the handover acceptance, marking the successful completion of various construction tasks for this national key cross sea passage project that has gone through a year and a half of preparation and four years of arduous construction. It has passed the final quality test and will officially start working in December this year, adding another new golden sea passage to the interconnection of the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage is the western extension of the Hong Kong Zhuhai Macao Bridge and a major national project during the 13th Five Year Plan period. It is also the first cross sea passage project to commence construction after the release of the Outline Development Plan for the Guangdong Hong Kong Macao Greater Bay Area. The project has a total length of approximately 31 kilometers, connecting the Hegang Expressway to the east, the Xintai Expressway to the west, and intersecting with the Western Coastal Expressway. It consists of two main bridges, Gaolan Port Bridge and Huangmaohai Bridge. Among them, Huangmaohai Bridge adopts a three tower cable-stayed bridge design and will become the world's largest three tower highway cable-stayed bridge after completion.

Handover acceptance is an extremely important task before the project is put into operation. On November 24-25, the handover and acceptance meeting for the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage was held in Zhuhai. The Handover and Acceptance Committee listened to the reports of the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Channel Management Center and representatives of various participating units, reviewed the construction materials, and conducted extensive and in-depth discussions. It is believed that the quality assurance system of the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Channel project is complete, meets the design and technical specifications, has strict process control, and the project quality is qualified. It is agreed to pass the handover and acceptance.

Since the construction of the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage began in June 2020, with the goal of "building a world-class cross sea bridge and creating a safe century long quality project", it has pioneered the "small waist" shaped concrete cable tower and TY type approach bridge pier body, innovatively proposed a three tower cable-stayed bridge static and dynamic comprehensive vibration reduction and energy dissipation system, first proposed the comprehensive aerodynamic control measures of "wind nozzle+horizontal vortex plate+lower central stabilizing plate", achieved "zero vortex vibration" in wind tunnel tests, innovatively adopted hyperbolic template BIM design CNC machining prefabricated assembly integrated technology, steel bar BIM design CNC machining skeleton forming overall lifting technology... After the completion and acceptance of the Huangmaohai Cross Sea Passage, it still needs to be approved by the industry regulatory department before it can officially meet the conditions for opening to traffic.
