On March 31, 2025, the bidding results for investors on the Jintan Wujin section of the Nanjing Changzhou Expressway were officially announced. Changzhou Transportation Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Changzhou Transportation Holdings Group Co., Ltd. jointly won the bid with an expected price of 100 billion yuan, marking that this key transportation project in the Yangtze River Delta is about to enter the construction stage.
The total length of the project route is 29.07 kilometers, starting from Jintan District and ending in Qianhuang Town, Wujin District. It is constructed according to the standard of a two-way six lane expressway, with a designed speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The project will cross the Xinmeng River and Fuhu Lake, underpass the proposed Changtai Railway and the Yantai Xichang Yixian Railway, and set up 2 hub interchanges, 3 toll stations, and 1 service area. The total investment of the project is about 10 billion yuan, and it is planned to start construction in 2025 with a construction period of 4 years. After completion, it will significantly improve the transportation efficiency between Nanjing and Changzhou.
