Recently, the government of Almaty Region in Kazakhstan, Shandong Ruitaizhichuang Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd., and Kerbulakskoe Farm in Kazakhstan have officially signed a cooperation memorandum to jointly promote the construction project of the 1,170MW photovoltaic power station in Almaty Region. The project plans to use 1,000 hectares of land, with a total investment of approximately 300 billion tenge (equivalent to about 4.35 billion yuan). This has become an important milestone in the deepening cooperation between China and Kazakhstan in the field of renewable energy, marking that the cooperation between the two sides has entered a new stage.
As a participant in the project, Shandong Ruitaizhichuang Optoelectronic Technology Co., Ltd. has strong strength in the photovoltaic field. Since it entered the photovoltaic module business in 2021, it has established five production bases globally, located in Tai'an, Shandong Province, Yancheng, Jiangsu Province, Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, as well as Oman and the United Arab Emirates. It has a battery production capacity of 20GW and a module production capacity of 14GW. The enterprise continues to expand the market, scale up the industry, and improve the construction of the ecological chain, constantly consolidating its market position in the photovoltaic industry.
In fact, there have been successful cooperation examples between China and Kazakhstan in the field of green energy. Previously, Huantai Energy jointly invested with its Kazakhstani partners to build the 100MW Kapchagay photovoltaic power station in Almaty Region, which also wrote a wonderful chapter for the cooperation between the two sides.
Information from the social media of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in China shows that in the first quarter of 2025, many key indicators in the field of renewable energy in Kazakhstan have achieved significant growth, and the industry is developing steadily and in a positive direction. By the end of the quarter, the total installed capacity of renewable energy facilities in Kazakhstan has reached 3,082.12MW, of which the installed capacity of wind power stations is 1,570.05MW and that of solar power stations is 1,222.61MW. The total power generation of renewable energy nationwide in this quarter has reached 1.962 billion kWh, with the power generation of wind power stations and solar power stations being 1.417 billion kWh and 0.374 billion kWh respectively. Data from the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan also shows that compared with the same period in 2024, the national renewable energy power generation in the first quarter of this year has increased by 11.4%, clearly demonstrating the steadily rising development trend of the country in the field of renewable energy.
