On May 27, the China-ASEAN Economic and Trade Forum and the 3rd China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo (Chain Expo) Promotion Conference was held in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, on May 26. Nearly 200 representatives from trade and investment promotion agencies, business associations and enterprises from China and ASEAN countries attended the event.

Ren Hongbin, President of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, said in his opening speech that in recent years, the economic and trade cooperation between China and ASEAN has been continuously upgraded and achieved fruitful results. CCPIT is willing to work with the business community of ASEAN countries to promote bilateral economic and trade cooperation, strengthen the coordinated development of industrial and supply chains, deepen practical cooperation in multilateral fields, actively participate in the ASEAN-China-GCC Summit, and contribute to the process of regional integration.

Malaysia's Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation Cheng Likang pointed out that Malaysia and China have maintained a mutually beneficial and win-win partnership for a long time, and looked forward to combining their respective advantages to build a stronger, smarter and more sustainable supply chain system in the future. It is believed that the 3rd Chain Expo can become an excellent platform for Malaysian and ASEAN enterprises to showcase their capabilities and explore the future together.

Chairman of the Malaysia-China Business Council, Loh Seng Quan, said that with the substantive completion of the China-ASEAN Free Trade Area (CAFTA) version 3.0 negotiations, the two sides will further deepen the friendly relations of mutual respect and win-win development. It is believed that the Expo will become an important platform for global suppliers to connect with China's vast supply chain network, promote inclusive cooperation, enhance supply chain resilience and contribute to sustainable development.

Other ASEAN delegates at the meeting believed that at present, the restructuring of regional supply chains is accelerating, and ASEAN and China have broad space for cooperation in scientific and technological innovation and industrial synergy. The Expo has built an important platform for countries to deepen mutual trust and expand cooperation. Enterprises from ASEAN countries will actively participate in the 3rd Chain Expo to jointly build an open, stable and sustainable regional supply chain system and promote mutual benefit and common development.

The 3rd Chain Expo is scheduled to be held in Beijing from July 16 to 20, 2025, with six major chain and supply chain service exhibition areas, including advanced manufacturing chain, clean energy chain, smart car chain, digital technology chain, healthy life chain, and green agriculture chain.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
