On June 12, 2025, the longest tunnel Logro-B of the Karakoram Highway realignment project of the Dasu Hydropower Station in Pakistan, constructed by China Civil Engineering Middle East, was successfully completed. The tunnel is 1403 meters long and adopts Chinese design standards. It is the fourth tunnel to be completed by the project, pressing the "acceleration button" for the full line to open.
The Karakoram Highway, as a symbol of China Pakistan friendship, needs to be rerouted due to the construction of hydropower stations. In 2015, China Civil Engineering undertook the task of changing the route, and in 2022, optimized the design and added "seven tunnels and three bridges". During construction, the team overcame natural disasters such as earthquakes and mudslides, as well as challenges such as local protests, terrorist threats, and design flaws, and achieved connectivity through measures such as optimizing construction and strengthening security. At present, the project is advancing the remaining works and will ensure high-quality performance through refined management, adding a new chapter to the friendship between China and Pakistan.
