Hubei Donghu Laboratory High-speed Magnetic Suspension Electromagnetic Propulsion Technology Innovation Center has made major scientific research breakthroughs. In the magnetic levitation experiment on June 17, 2025, the scientific research team accelerated the 1.1-ton test vehicle to 650 kilometers per hour on the 1,000-meter-long test line in just 7 seconds, creating the fastest test speed record for the same type of platform in the world.

According to Li Weichao, director of the center, this experiment uses advanced short-range boosting technology, and the system positioning accuracy can be accurate to 4 mm. Relying on electromagnetic boost and accurate speed measurement and positioning system, the test vehicle can achieve safe braking within a distance of 220 meters even at a high speed of 650 kilometers per hour. At present, this test line technology has been promoted and applied in multiple scientific research devices, and the scientific research team is continuing to work towards the new goal of speeding 800 kilometers per hour.

High-speed magnetic levitation technology has broad application prospects and can be applied in multiple fields such as ultra-high-speed electromagnetic skid, high-speed magnetic levitation rail transit, low-altitude economy and aerospace electromagnetic emission. China has made remarkable achievements in this technology field and has successfully operated commercial maglev lines in Shanghai, Beijing and Changsha, Hunan, etc., laying a solid foundation for the future development of higher-speed maglev transportation.(This article is from the official website of Seetao www.seetao.com.
