In the 2 × 600 MW coal power environmental protection alternative project of the Pearl River Power Plant in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province, Harbin Electric Group Turbine Works Co., Ltd. will provide 600 MW ultra supercritical steam turbine units independently developed. As a key project of Guangdong Province's 14th Five Year Plan for Energy Development, this project was officially approved by the Guangzhou Development and Reform Commission on September 20, 2024, with a total investment of approximately 6 billion yuan. The project adopts advanced technologies such as secondary intermediate reheating and five cylinder four exhaust steam, which have the characteristics of high parameters, clean and low-carbon, and efficient regulation, and can meet the requirements of new power systems for deep peak shaving and rapid load change. According to the plan, the two units will start construction in March 2027 and November 2028 respectively, and will be put into commercial operation in April 2029 and December 2030.

The 2 × 1000 MW thermal power generation unit project in Lanzhou New Area, Gansu Province is constructed by Gansu Energy and Chemical Investment Group Co., Ltd. The site is located in Qinchuan Town, Lanzhou New Area, Gansu Province. The project will adopt the 1000 MW high-efficiency ultra supercritical coal-fired air-cooled generator unit independently developed by Harbin Electric Group Steam Turbine Factory Co., Ltd., and apply multiple core technologies such as multi-stage small enthalpy reduction reaction blades and low-pressure integral cast iron inner cylinder. It is worth mentioning that this project is the first thermal power project in Gansu Province to adopt a high parameter design of 30MPa (a), which has significant demonstration significance. After completion, the project will become an important infrastructure in Lanzhou New Area, effectively improving the regional power grid structure and enhancing power supply reliability.
