On August 25th, China Wuyi Philippines Branch successfully won the bid for a road and bridge project and a flood control engineering project in the Philippines, achieving new expansion in the field of engineering contracting in the Philippines. The two projects will significantly enhance the local transportation infrastructure and disaster resistance capabilities, injecting new impetus into regional social development.

Palang Balabagan Highway Project: Connecting the Development Arteries of Agricultural Regions

The project is located in the Arromont Region (ARMM) of Mindanao Island in the Philippines, where agriculture accounts for a relatively high proportion (about 60% of the primary industry) and the natural conditions are favorable for agricultural development. However, the underdeveloped infrastructure severely restricts the economy, and the regional poverty rate was as high as 55.8% (2012).

To promote balanced development, the Philippine government and the Japan Development Bank (JDB) are jointly promoting the construction of 800 kilometers of roads. China Wuyi undertakes the construction of 14.7 kilometers of road sections (including 14085 meters of highways and 575 meters of bridges) in accordance with national standards for high-grade highways. After completion, the project will significantly improve transportation, assist in the export of agricultural products, and promote regional economic development.

Abula River structural reinforcement and repair project: first involved in flood control, benefiting people's livelihoods

The project is located in the Abula River basin in northern Luzon, Philippines, which has long been affected by natural disasters such as typhoons, floods, and soil erosion.

The project includes repairing and connecting the original river channel, restoring natural drainage function, and reinforcing and repairing the structure of a river section with a total length of about 8 kilometers. The contract period is 3 years. This project is the first flood control project undertaken by China Wuyi in the Philippines, which is of great significance for the company to enhance its business capabilities, innovate cooperation models, integrate the industrial chain, and promote the coordinated development of the group. After the completion of the project, it will significantly reduce the risk of floods in the watershed, minimize agricultural losses, and directly benefit over 160000 residents.

In 2025, relying on years of engineering experience and technical strength in the Philippines, China Wuyi won several projects in succession, which not only reflects the active participation of enterprises in the "the Belt and Road" cooperation, but also injects new vitality into China Philippines infrastructure cooperation.
