Recently, the Luhuo Kangding Xinduqiao Expressway project, invested and constructed by Shudao Group, has made new progress. Ten early construction sites have started simultaneously in Luhuo, Daofu, and Kangding counties (cities) in Ganzi Prefecture. The core connecting line between G4218 Yaye Expressway and G4217 Rongchang Expressway has officially entered the substantive construction stage. After the project is opened, it will completely end the history of Daofu and Luhuo counties not being connected to highways, and become a key step in the reconstruction of the transportation pattern in the hinterland of Ganzi.

As an important channel radiating from the Chengdu Chongqing economic circle to the northwest, the Lukang Expressway starts from Luhuo County and connects to the G4217 Rongchang Expressway, passes through Daofu County, intersects with the planned G0615 Markang Kangding Expressway in Bamei Town, and ends at Xinduqiao Town in Kangding City, connecting to the under construction G4218 Yaye Expressway Kangding to Xinduqiao section. The average altitude of the entire line exceeds 3500 meters, and the terrain and geology are complex, with a fragile ecological environment. The project has a total length of 186.807 kilometers and adopts a two-way four lane technical standard. The design speed is 80 kilometers per hour, with a total investment of approximately 34.417 billion yuan and a construction period of 4 years.

From a strategic positioning perspective, the Lukang Expressway is an important component of the national connecting line between Tibet, Qinghai, and Yunnan. Its completion will strengthen the rapid connection between the main channels of Sichuan and Tibet, and improve the comprehensive transportation network in the western region. For Ganzi Prefecture, this expressway not only solves the transportation bottleneck that has long constrained regional development, but also connects the tourism pearls of western Sichuan such as the Tagong Grassland, Bamei Moshi Park, Daofu Tibetan style dwellings, and Luhuohuoer culture, building a golden tourism corridor between snow capped mountains and grasslands. After its opening, the travel time from Kangding Xinduqiao to Luhuo will be reduced from 4 hours to 2 hours, greatly improving tourism accessibility and resource integration efficiency.

Faced with the challenges of high altitude, complex geology, and ecologically sensitive areas, the project adopts the concept of green construction+intelligent construction, and minimizes the impact on the natural environment by optimizing the route direction, strengthening ecological restoration, and applying new technologies and materials. With the advancement of construction, the Lukang Expressway will become a powerful engine to promote the upgrading of the cultural and tourism industry in Ganzi Prefecture, promote rural revitalization in ethnic areas, and deepen the coordinated development of the economic circle between western Sichuan and Chengdu Chongqing.

This highway, which carries multiple missions of breaking through transportation barriers, ecological protection, and tourism revitalization, is accelerating its construction with the attitude of starting construction immediately. In the future, it will become a golden link connecting natural wonders and cultural heritage on the western Sichuan Plateau, injecting strong momentum into the high-quality development of the western region.
