In 2025, significant progress will be made in railway construction in Northeast China. The expansion and renovation project of Fengcheng Jingtonghua Yanji Railway with a total investment of 11.47 billion yuan has completed the survey and design bidding work, and China Railway Fourth Survey and Design Institute Group Co., Ltd. has successfully won the bid with 253.8 million yuan. The launch of this major project marks a crucial step forward in the upgrading and transformation of the railway network in Northeast China.
The total length of the project line is 705.6 kilometers, running through Liaoning and Jilin provinces. It starts from Fenghuang Station on the Shendan Railway, passes through important cities such as Dandong, Benxi, Tonghua, Baishan, and Yanbian, and ends at Chaoyangchuan Station on the Changtu Railway. The project covers 8 existing lines including Fengshang Line, Tongguan Line, Meiji Line, Yada Line, Hunbai Line, Baihe Line, Helong Line, Chaokai Line, etc., involving 46 stations and 58 tunnels with a total length of 78.7 kilometers.

It is reported that the expansion and renovation project mainly includes tunnel clearance rectification, line disease control, station facility renewal, old equipment renovation, and level crossing to interchange transformation, among other aspects. By systematically renovating existing railway lines, the regional railway transportation capacity and service quality will be significantly improved, injecting new impetus into the economic development of the areas along the line.
After the completion of this project, it will effectively improve the railway transportation conditions in Northeast China, enhance the line capacity and transportation efficiency, and further optimize the regional comprehensive transportation system. At the same time, the project will also strengthen the economic connections between cities along the route, promote regional coordinated development, and have important significance for promoting the comprehensive revitalization of Northeast China.
Industry experts say that the implementation of this project not only reflects the continuous promotion of China's railway infrastructure construction, but also demonstrates China's innovative strength in the field of railway technology transformation. With the deepening of the project, the railway network in Northeast China will become more complete, providing a more solid transportation guarantee for regional economic and social development.
