On September 17, 2025, the construction of the Fuyu Nenjiang Jiagedaqi Railway renovation project in Heilongjiang Province officially began. This project carries the expectations of the people along the line and is of great significance.

The Fujia Railway spans across Heilongjiang Province and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, like a link that connects the Molidawa Daur Autonomous Banner and Oroqen Autonomous Banner of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, as well as Nenjiang City, Nehe City, and Fuyu County of Heilongjiang Province, and finally reaches Qiqihar City. It is a key channel for external communication in the Daxing'an Mountains region and plays a pivotal role in the regional transportation network.

However, the railway was first built in the 20th century, and with the development of the times, the drawbacks of the existing lines have become increasingly prominent. The low technical standards and slow operating speed seriously restrict its service capabilities. At present, the passenger trains from Jiagedaqi to Harbin run for nearly 10 hours, which is difficult to meet the convenient travel needs of the people along the line and to some extent limits economic exchanges and cooperation between regions.

This renovation project will be constructed according to the standard of electrification of the entire line and a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour, with the conditions for operating high-speed trains. After the project is completed, it will bring significant changes. The fastest travel time from Jiagedaqi to Harbin will be significantly reduced from the current 9 hours and 43 minutes to around 6 hours and 30 minutes, saving more than 3 hours and greatly improving travel efficiency. At the same time, the annual freight capacity of railways will be increased to 50 million tons, providing strong support for regional material circulation and economic development. The Fujia Railway renovation project is not only an upgrade of transportation infrastructure, but also an important measure to promote regional coordinated development and improve the quality of life of the people.
