On September 23, 2025, Shandong Expressway Group ushered in a shining moment in the Malaysian market, with two important projects advancing simultaneously, injecting strong impetus into the group's internationalization strategy.

On the same day, Shandong Expressway Group and Malaysia PTT Collaborative Group successfully signed a framework agreement for the Malaysia Smart Warehousing Project. The achievement of this agreement is a significant result of the deep cooperation between the two parties in the field of logistics. The project is strategically located in key areas such as Selangor, Johor, Pahang, and Terengganu to tailor smart warehouses for industry clients. As the economic and logistics hubs of Malaysia, these regions have convenient transportation and industrial agglomeration. The construction of smart warehouses will greatly improve local logistics efficiency and reduce logistics costs. The total number of pallet spaces planned for the project is as high as 2 million, with a grand scale and a contract amount of 6 billion ringgit (approximately 10.2 billion yuan). It will not only bring considerable economic benefits to Shandong Expressway Group, but also help Malaysia's logistics industry move towards intelligence and modernization.

On the same day, the groundbreaking ceremony for the Malaysia Nilai Smart City construction project, undertaken by Shandong Expressway Group, marked the official start of the construction of this magnificent project. The Nilai Smart City project is located in Nilai town, on the border of western Negeri Sembilan and Selangor state in Malaysia, covering an area of approximately 6233 acres, like a land of infinite possibilities and hope. The project plans to invest 7 billion US dollars within ten years to create a modern smart city that integrates multiple functions. Among them, the automobile manufacturing center with an annual output of 100000 new energy vehicles and components will promote the development of Malaysia's new energy vehicle industry and enhance its competitiveness in the global automotive industry; The high-tech intelligent manufacturing center will gather advanced technologies and innovative concepts, becoming a new engine for the transformation and upgrading of Malaysia's manufacturing industry; The construction of medical cities and commercial centers will provide residents with high-quality medical services and convenient commercial facilities, enhancing the quality of life in the city.

As the EPC general contractor of the Nilai Smart City project, Shandong Expressway Group shoulders a heavy responsibility. The group will fully leverage its comprehensive advantages in design, procurement, and construction, and undertake the entire process from project planning to implementation and construction. The project will be promoted in seven phases based on the owner's investment, customer demand, and fund repurchase progress, with the initial contract amount of 1.6 billion US dollars. This not only reflects the high recognition of the strength and reputation of Shandong Expressway Group by the owners, but also accumulates valuable experience for the group in the construction of large-scale overseas projects.Editor/Cheng Liting
