In the context of actively promoting energy transformation and vigorously developing green energy globally, international energy cooperation is increasingly close, and the the Belt and Road Initiative has built a broad platform for energy exchange and cooperation among countries along the Belt and Road. Recently, on the grasslands of Darkhan, Mongolia, sunshine and hope are intertwined. The first solar energy storage power station project participated in by Sany Silicon Energy, the 5MW+4MWh solar energy storage power station in Darkhan, Mongolia, has officially started construction.

At the construction site, representatives from Mongolia's DSEDN power bureau and the Sany Silicon Energy project team gathered together to witness this historic moment, marking a new stage of technological cooperation between China and Mongolia in the field of new energy.
The project relies on China Mongolia energy cooperation under the the Belt and Road framework, and adopts the cutting-edge optical storage integration technology independently developed by China. The entire system is ingeniously composed of a 5MW photovoltaic array and a 4MWh energy storage device, with the ability to intelligently switch off grid. This unique design enables the power station to stably deliver green electricity to the central Mongolian power grid, and quickly provide emergency power supply in extreme weather or sudden power grid failures, effectively alleviating the problems of weak local power grid coverage and peak winter electricity consumption.
Considering the unique climate characteristics of severe winter and frequent sandstorms in Mongolia, the project has been ingeniously designed with advanced design concepts that are resistant to wind, sand, and low temperatures. This ensures that the equipment can operate stably even in extreme environments of -40 ℃, providing a solid guarantee for the long-term reliable operation of the project.
After the project is put into operation, it is expected to bring significant ecological and economic benefits. The annual average power generation can reach 7.75 million kWh, reducing coal use by 233 tons and carbon dioxide emissions by 642 tons, truly achieving a win-win situation between green development and economic benefits. In addition, the project will also train a group of new energy professionals for Mongolia through technical training and localized operation and maintenance, effectively promoting the upgrading of its energy industry. As Mongolia's first demonstration project with the potential for exporting green electricity, it will help Mongolia transform its abundant resource advantages into tangible economic advantages. The representative of Mongolia's DSEDN Power Bureau praised the project as providing an important practical example for Mongolia's energy transformation. The person in charge of the Sany Silicon Energy project also stated that the Darkhan project is not only a cooperation in the energy field, but also a model for China's new energy technology to "go global". I believe that in the future, with the steady progress and smooth operation of the project, the cooperation between China and Mongolia in the field of green energy will deepen, injecting a continuous stream of power into the sustainable development of the two countries and jointly writing a beautiful new chapter in energy cooperation.Editor/Cheng Liting
