On October 14th, Tianhe Energy Storage, a subsidiary of Trina Solar, announced that the company has successfully won the bid for the construction of the first brine storage power station project of Sinopec Jiangsu Oilfield Xinyuan Mining, becoming the only winning bidder for the project. After the selection of photovoltaic module products, Tianhe Energy Storage's energy storage products have once again been recognized by the Jiangsu Oilfield project, marking the official commercialization of the innovative energy paradigm of "photovoltaic storage+oilfield".
Tianhe Solar stated that the company has established a global energy storage project layout from the new energy generation side to the grid side, and has established a "safe and reliable" brand image in the industry. As of the first half of 2025, Tianhe Energy Storage's cumulative shipment volume has exceeded 12GWh, with modular and rapid deployment capabilities, providing strong support for project delivery.

As a core component of Trina Solar's "dual wheel drive of light and energy storage" strategy, Trina Solar has continuously deepened its industrial layout since its establishment in 2015. In 2019, it seized the opportunity of new energy development and laid out its lithium battery industry; Establish an advanced energy storage battery research institute in 2021 and release a dedicated Tianhe core for energy storage; By 2023, large-scale manufacturing will be achieved, and the Chuzhou Energy Storage Battery and System Integration Super Factory will be officially put into operation; By 2025, the 587Ah high-capacity Trina Solar and Elementa King Kong 3 system solutions will be released, with business coverage in over 100 countries worldwide. It is expected to maintain a shipment scale of 8 to 10 GWh throughout 2025, with the potential to double performance for three consecutive years.
Currently, with the increasing proportion of new energy in the global energy landscape, the demand for flexible regulation resources in the power system continues to grow, creating vast space for the development of new energy storage. According to the latest data from the National Energy Administration, as of the end of September 2024, the scale of new energy storage projects completed and put into operation in China has reached 58.52GW/128GWh, maintaining a high-speed growth of over 200% for two consecutive years.
Driven by the continuous expansion of installed capacity, breakthroughs in technological innovation, and increasingly perfect electricity market mechanisms, the new energy storage industry is steadily moving towards a new stage of large-scale development and ushering in a golden opportunity period of rapid growth. Tianhe Energy Storage's winning bid for the Sinopec project not only demonstrates the company's comprehensive strength, but also provides a demonstration case for the innovative application of new energy storage in the traditional energy field.
