Recently, the modern logistics industry park project in Kunming Airport Economic Zone, with a total investment of 2.59 billion yuan, has officially started construction. As a key logistics industry project in Yunnan Province during the 14th Five Year Plan period, this project is located in the core area of Kunming Changshui International Airport Airport Economic Zone, with a planned total area of about 850 acres. It will build an integrated logistics ecosystem of "smart warehousing+multimodal transportation+industrial supporting facilities". It is expected that after its full completion and operation in 2026, the annual cargo throughput will exceed 8 million tons, driving employment of over 3000 people.

The project focuses on the positioning of "green and smart logistics", and the planned construction includes a 200000 square meter high standard intelligent warehousing center, a 50000 square meter cold chain logistics zone, a 30000 square meter cross-border e-commerce distribution center, and a supporting logistics information trading platform. Among them, the intelligent warehousing center will introduce AGV unmanned handling robots and intelligent sorting systems to achieve full process automation of goods storage, sorting, and distribution; The cold chain zone adopts multi temperature control technology ranging from -25 ℃ to 10 ℃, focusing on serving the preservation and transportation of Yunnan's characteristic agricultural products such as flowers, fruits and vegetables.

In terms of transportation and intermodal transportation, the project will rely on the advantages of Changshui Airport's aviation hub, and simultaneously build a railway dedicated line and a highway freight distribution center, forming a "aviation+railway+highway" multimodal transportation network. Through the seamless connection with China Laos Railway and China Europe Express, goods can reach Southeast Asia in 48 hours and Europe in 72 hours, which is expected to reduce logistics costs for Kunming foreign trade enterprises by about 12% every year.

The project will also be accompanied by the construction of a logistics finance center, a supply chain management headquarters base, and a green energy supply station. Low carbon facilities such as photovoltaic roofs and electric freight vehicles will be introduced to create Yunnan Province's first "zero carbon logistics park" demonstration project. At present, 12 companies including JD Logistics and Yunnan Communications Investment have signed contracts to settle in, with an expected annual output value of 5 billion yuan after operation, promoting Kunming to become an international logistics hub city facing South Asia and Southeast Asia.

Industrial empowerment and regional linkage: activating a new engine for economic development in central Yunnan

The launch and construction of the project is not only a key measure for Kunming to improve its modern logistics industry system, but also deeply integrated into the national "the Belt and Road" initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Belt development strategy, injecting new momentum into the coordinated development of the urban agglomeration industry in central Yunnan. From the perspective of industrial radiation, the project will focus on connecting with Yunnan's advanced manufacturing, characteristic agriculture, cross-border trade and other advantageous industries, providing efficient logistics solutions for electronic information products, plateau characteristic agricultural products, cross-border e-commerce products, etc., helping Yunnan's characteristic industries break through logistics bottlenecks and further expand domestic and international markets. For example, relying on the cold chain logistics zone, Yunnan flowers can be quickly delivered to Southeast Asian countries through air cold chain, with a shelf life extended by more than 30%. It is expected to drive an annual growth of 8% in the province's flower exports; For high-altitude fruits and vegetables, the project will establish a full cold chain network from the field to the dining table, reducing the postpartum loss rate to below 5% and enhancing the added value of agricultural products.

In terms of regional collaboration, the project will complement the aviation maintenance, cross-border e-commerce, intelligent manufacturing and other industrial projects that have already landed in Kunming Airport Economic Zone, and build a "logistics+industry" integrated development ecosystem. By leveraging the big data analysis capabilities of the logistics information trading platform, we aim to optimize the allocation of resources in various links of the supply chain, promote the clustering and development of upstream and downstream enterprises, and attract over 50 supporting enterprises to settle in, forming a logistics industry cluster with an annual output value exceeding 20 billion yuan. At the same time, the project will strengthen logistics cooperation with surrounding areas such as Dianzhong New Area, Qujing, Yuxi, etc., establish a regional logistics linkage mechanism, help the Dianzhong urban agglomeration achieve integrated and standardized logistics development, reduce logistics costs for enterprises in the region, and enhance the overall competitiveness of the industry.

Innovation driven and future layout: leading the new direction of green logistics development

To continuously enhance the core competitiveness of the project, the construction party will collaborate with top domestic research institutions to establish a "Smart Logistics Innovation Laboratory", focusing on tackling key technologies such as intelligent scheduling algorithms, green packaging materials, and new energy logistics equipment, and promoting the transformation of the logistics industry towards digitization, intelligence, and low-carbon. For example, in terms of intelligent scheduling, a logistics path optimization system based on big data and artificial intelligence will be developed to achieve dynamic scheduling and precise matching of goods transportation, further improving transportation efficiency; In the field of green packaging, the application of biodegradable packaging materials will be promoted to reduce environmental pollution in the logistics process.

In addition, the project will actively explore innovative models of "logistics+finance" and "logistics+e-commerce", relying on the logistics finance center to provide financial services such as warehouse receipt pledge and supply chain financing for settled enterprises, and solve the financing difficulties of small and medium-sized enterprises; By deeply integrating with cross-border e-commerce distribution centers, we aim to build a "one-stop" cross-border logistics service platform, simplify customs clearance processes, and enhance the level of cross-border trade facilitation.
