Recently, AdifAV, a Spanish high-speed infrastructure management company, officially awarded a civil engineering contract worth 283.3 million euros to advance the construction of the final section of the Loja Bypass in the Anthra Granada high-speed line. The total length of this section is 7.9 kilometers, making it the longest and final key section of the entire detour line. The project includes the construction of the Cerro de los Limones Tunnel (1295 meters), a 794 meter elevated bridge spanning the Genil River and A92 highway, a 693 meter elevated bridge spanning the Salar River and A4155 highway, as well as five road bridges and two underground passages.
In order to balance engineering construction and heritage protection, AdifAV has partnered with the Andalusian regional government to implement special protection measures in the Salar Roman Villa site area to minimize the impact on the archaeological environment. At the same time, multiple environmental protection measures will be implemented during the construction process to strengthen ecological protection.

The total length of the Loha bypass line is 19 kilometers, of which nearly one-third is a tunnel or elevated bridge structure. The civil engineering project of this section is divided into four sections for promotion: in addition to the Genil Valley section signed this time, the 3.2-kilometer-long Rio Frio section was launched last year with a contract value of 49 million euros; The 6.3-kilometer-long A92 section also started construction at the beginning of this year, with a contract amount of 48.7 million euros, including a new elevated bridge spanning a traditional railway line. The civil engineering part has been completed.
At the same time, AdifAV is synchronously advancing the track and electrification supporting projects of the line. The company has initiated a tender for steel rail supply worth 9.6 million euros, with plans to construct a second track on the 46 kilometer monorail section between Archidona and Riorio, with an estimated usage of over 80000 rails. In addition, the supply contract for ballast (approximately 220000 tons, worth 8.5 million euros) is also in the bidding process, and the design work for track laying and elevated electrification equipment is actively being promoted. After the full line is completed, 82 kilometers of the Anthra Granada high-speed railway line will be operated on double tracks, accounting for two-thirds of the total length of the line. This will significantly improve the regional railway capacity and operational efficiency, further consolidating the coverage and service level of the Spanish high-speed railway network in Andalusia.Editor/Cheng Liting
