Recently, the bidding results of the S04 Suqian Suiping Expressway Fuyang section project have been officially announced. The consortium led by Anhui Provincial Transportation Holdings Group Co., Ltd. has successfully won the bid, with a total investment of up to 11 billion yuan. This marks another major advantage for the construction of Fuyang's transportation infrastructure, and the Anhui Henan cross provincial transportation corridor is about to enter the substantive construction stage.

As an important connecting line in the planning of Anhui Province's expressway network, the starting point of this project is located on the east side of Ranmiao Township in Yingdong District, Fuyang City. It connects to the existing S04 Suqian to Suiping Expressway Bozhou section, passing through five districts and counties: Yingdong District, Yingquan District, Yingzhou District, Funan County, and Linquan County. The final point is at the Anhui Henan provincial border in Chengguan Town, Linquan County, connecting with the planned S04 Suqian to Suiping Expressway Henan section in Henan Province. The total length of the line is about 72.563 kilometers. The project adopts the standard of a two-way four lane expressway construction, with a design speed of 120 kilometers per hour. The entire line will have about 80 bridges, 9 interchanges, 15 separated interchanges, and supporting facilities such as service areas, toll stations, and maintenance work areas.

It is worth noting that after the completion of the project, it will completely open up a fast track from the southwest of Fuyang to the southeast of Henan, significantly reducing the spatial and temporal distance between counties such as Linquan and Funan and the urban area of Fuyang and surrounding cities. At that time, starting from Linquan County, it will take half an hour to reach the urban area of Fuyang, and 1.5 hours to reach surrounding prefecture level cities such as Bozhou and Zhumadian. This will not only optimize the layout of the expressway network in northern Anhui, alleviate the traffic pressure of G35 Jiguang Expressway and G105 National Highway, but also promote Fuyang's integration into the development strategy of the Yangtze River Delta and the Central Plains urban agglomeration, providing strong transportation support for the transfer of industries, circulation of agricultural products, and development of cultural and tourism resources along the route.

It is understood that the project is expected to start construction within the year, with a construction period of 3 years. At present, the preliminary land acquisition and demolition, survey and design work have been synchronously promoted. The construction unit will strictly follow the planning standards, strictly control the quality and safety of the project, and make every effort to create high-quality, efficient, and green transportation projects. This transportation artery, which connects 5 districts and counties and extends directly to the border of Henan, will become a "golden channel" to drive the economic and social development of the northern and southern regions of Anhui in the future, injecting new powerful momentum into the construction of a modern regional center city in Fuyang.At the level of regional coordinated development, the construction of this expressway will further strengthen Fuyang's core position as a transportation hub on the Anhui Henan border. The project not only achieves seamless connection with the Henan section of the expressway, but also connects cities along the Anhui Henan route such as Bozhou, Fuyang, and Zhumadian, forming a "one hour economic circle" radiation effect. The industrial clusters along the route, such as Funan Agricultural Products Processing Park and Linquan Electronic Industry Park, will use high-speed channels to connect the "two-way fast lane" of raw material input and product output, attracting more industrial resources from the Yangtze River Delta and Central Plains regions to transfer to northern Anhui, and promoting the optimization and upgrading of regional industrial layout. At the same time, the transportation connection between the expressway and Fuyang Xiguan Airport and Fuyang Railway Station will be further improved, building a three-dimensional transportation network of "highway+aviation+railway", and helping Fuyang become a distribution center for people, logistics, and information flow in the northern Anhui region.

For the people along the route, this highway brings a direct improvement in their quality of life. In the past, people from southern counties such as Linquan and Funan had to detour along the G105 national highway to reach the urban area of Fuyang, which often took more than 1.5 hours and was greatly affected by road traffic congestion. After the completion of the project, the commuting efficiency of half an hour directly to the urban area will make "cross district work" and "weekend travel" the norm, greatly facilitating people's medical treatment, education, and employment. In addition, the three service areas planned and constructed along the expressway will integrate local characteristics, adding convenient facilities such as agricultural product exhibition and sales areas and cultural tourism consultation points, which will not only facilitate passing passengers, but also provide display windows for characteristic agricultural products and cultural tourism resources along the route. In response to the travel needs of towns and villages along the route, the project will simultaneously construct four interconnected connecting lines, bridging the "last mile" between rural areas and highways, helping to efficiently connect the rural road network with the highway network, and injecting traffic vitality into rural revitalization.

In terms of green and low-carbon construction, the project strictly follows the concept of "ecological priority, green development", and incorporates environmental protection requirements throughout the entire construction process. Low disturbance construction technology is adopted during construction, avoiding important water conservation areas such as Ying River and Quan River, as well as concentrated areas of basic farmland. Environmental protection facilities such as vegetation buffer zones and wildlife passages are set up on ecologically sensitive road sections that must be passed through. New low-carbon asphalt mixture is selected as the pavement material to reduce carbon emissions during the construction process; Ecological greening projects will be implemented along the slopes, planting local tree species and herbaceous plants to create a green corridor with scenery and lush greenery throughout the year. At the same time, the project will integrate smart transportation elements, build a full process monitoring system, intelligent toll collection system, and emergency rescue system, achieve real-time monitoring of traffic flow and rapid response to emergencies, not only improve traffic efficiency, but also provide data support for later maintenance and management, and strive to create a "green, intelligent, and safe" modern highway demonstration project.

At present, the preliminary work of the project has entered the final stage, and the construction team is about to enter the site. All construction tasks will be carried out in an orderly manner according to the time nodes.
