Bahrain's Foulath Holdings and Dubai's Yellow Door Energy signed a power purchase agreement on November 2 to jointly develop a 123 MW peak solar project, which includes the world's largest single site rooftop solar power plant. This cooperation was officially announced at the "Gulf Gateway" investment forum hosted by the Bahrain Economic Development Authority.

The project is located in the Foulath Industrial Park of the Alshid Salman Industrial City, and will construct 10 rooftop photovoltaic power stations and 4 ground-based photovoltaic devices, covering an area of 70.7 hectares and using a total of 189900 high-efficiency solar panels. The 50 MW peak rooftop power station consists of 77000 solar panels, covering 262000 square meters of yard sheds, and will become the world's largest single rooftop solar facility.

Foulath Holdings stated that the project is expected to produce 200 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity in the first year, reduce 90000 tons of carbon emissions, and provide green energy support for its subsidiaries such as Bahrain Steel and United Steel. Yellow Door Energy will be responsible for the financing, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of the entire project lifecycle.

This cooperation marks a further expansion of Yellow Door Energy's business presence in the Middle East, with the company's cumulative installed capacity reaching a peak of 400 megawatts. In March of this year, the company also collaborated with Abu Dhabi's Emsteel to develop a 31 MW solar project, which is expected to be completed by 2026.
