Recently, the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan signed an investment cooperation agreement with Shaanxi Construction Engineering Group and Oriental Hope Group of China to build two large-scale waste incineration power plants in the capital Astana and Shymkent city. This is an important milestone for China and Kazakhstan to deepen cooperation in the field of environmental protection and energy.
According to the agreement plan, the Astana waste incineration power plant has a designed daily processing capacity of 1500 tons, an annual processing capacity of approximately 550000 tons, and a total investment scale of 94.4 billion tenge (approximately 180 million US dollars). The daily processing capacity of the Chimkent project is 1000 tons, with an annual processing capacity of approximately 360000 tons and an investment of 53.9 billion tenge (approximately 100 million US dollars).

These two projects will create over 550 temporary job opportunities during the construction phase, and provide approximately 200 stable job opportunities during the operation phase, effectively driving the development of the local job market. The Ministry of Ecology of Kazakhstan stated that the completion and operation of these modern environmental protection facilities will significantly improve the capacity of urban household waste treatment, significantly reduce the load on landfills, and convert waste into clean electricity through advanced incineration power generation technology, achieving resource recycling. The implementation of the project will not only help solve urban environmental problems, but also inject new impetus into Kazakhstan's green energy development and ecological civilization construction.
