Recently, under the joint witness of Zhao Lianzhi, Deputy General Manager of China Road and Bridge Corporation, and senior management of Senegal National Highway Company (ADS), the operation contract for the Mbour Kaolak Expressway was officially signed at ADS headquarters. The implementation of this contract marks a new level of cooperation between China and Serbia in the field of infrastructure construction, and also injects new momentum into the in-depth implementation of the "the Belt and Road" initiative in Africa.

The Mbur Kaolak Expressway, with a total length of approximately 99.2 kilometers, is an important transportation artery under the framework of Senegal's "Revitalization Plan". According to the contract, this section of the road will be operated and maintained by Senegal Highway Management Co., Ltd., jointly funded by China and Senegal. This cooperation model not only reflects the complementary advantages of resources and capabilities, but also demonstrates the cooperative partnership of co construction and sharing between both parties.

This signing is another important achievement of China Road and Bridge Corporation's deep cultivation and meticulous work in Senegal. From the construction of the Jess Tuba Expressway in 2007, to the opening and operation of the Il-Mane Province Expressway in 2018, and now responsible for the operation and management of the Mbur Kaolak Expressway, China Road and Bridge Corporation has won the continuous trust of Serbia with professional strength and responsible attitude over the past decade. It is worth mentioning that with the operation of this project, the total length of highways operated by China Road and Bridge Corporation in Senegal will reach 276 kilometers, accounting for about 85% of the country's total operating highways. This data fully demonstrates the leading position of Chinese enterprises in Senegal's infrastructure construction.

As an important support for economic development, the operational quality of highways directly affects the vitality of regional economy. The Mbur Kaolak Expressway connects important economic regions in Senegal, and its efficient operation will significantly improve the connectivity efficiency between Dakar and the southwestern region, providing a solid foundation for agricultural product transportation and tourism development, and is of great significance for promoting regional balanced development. The deepening of this cooperation not only demonstrates the professional capabilities of Chinese enterprises in the field of overseas infrastructure construction, but also reflects the transformation and upgrading of China Africa cooperation from "construction" to "operation". With the deepening and implementation of the "the Belt and Road" initiative, this cooperation model based on local needs and focusing on long-term benefits will surely bring more tangible benefits to the co construction of the country.Editor/Cheng Liting
