On December 11, 2025, Fenyi County in Jiangxi Province signed a contract with Ganfeng Lithium Battery to jointly build a 10GWh photovoltaic storage direct flexible zero carbon industrial base, significantly enhancing Fenyi's level and reputation in the field of lithium new energy.

Project signing: Strong collaboration to create a new benchmark for zero carbon industry

On December 11th, Fenyi County in Xinyu City, Jiangxi Province, held a signing ceremony for the Ganfeng 10GWh Photovoltaic Storage Direct Flexible Zero Carbon Industrial Base project with Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Battery Technology Co., Ltd. Vice Secretary of the Xinyu Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, Li Liangbin, Chairman of Jiangxi Ganfeng Lithium Industry Group Co., Ltd., Deputy Mayor Xiao Qiugen, and other leaders jointly witnessed the signing of the agreement. The management committee of Fenyi Industrial Park and the relevant person in charge of Ganfeng Lithium Industry Group signed an agreement on behalf of both parties.  

Before signing the contract, the directional army met with Li Liangbin and his delegation. He pointed out that Xinyu is currently implementing the "6313" action plan in depth, and is working together to comprehensively build a new type of industrial strong city. The successful implementation of the Ganfeng lithium battery project is an important measure to promote the development of the new energy industry in Xinyu and cultivate new quality productivity. The municipal party committee and government will fully support the project construction and create a first-class environment for enterprise development.  

Construction content: Building a four in one zero carbon energy system

The construction content of this contracted project covers four core areas: soft pack lithium battery production line and system integration factory, distributed photovoltaic power generation system and supporting electrochemical energy storage facilities, supporting facilities such as green transportation logistics, and other supporting ancillary industrial facilities.  

The soft pack lithium battery production line is the core link of the project, and Ganfeng Lithium has achieved significant breakthroughs in the field of soft pack battery technology. In December 2024, the company released a new generation of soft pack CTP integrated batteries, integrating six technological innovations: "super balance," "super safety," "super integration," "super protection," "super temperature control," and "super algorithm." The energy density is as high as 190Wh/kg, supporting over 10C high rate discharge, and the group efficiency reaches the world's leading 74%.  

The optical storage direct flexible system is another highlight of the project. The system collaborates with four major systems, namely photovoltaic power generation, energy storage peak shaving, DC distribution, and flexible regulation, to build a closed-loop system of "generation storage usage regulation". The photovoltaic direct flexible technology integrates distributed photovoltaic and energy storage resources through direct current distribution as a link, and achieves efficient, low-carbon, economical, and reliable operation of energy through intelligent flexible regulation methods. It is an important technological path for building zero carbon parks.

Industrial impact: Chain main effect drives regional cluster development

The 10GWh photovoltaic storage direct flexible zero carbon industrial base aims to build a comprehensive industrial cluster integrating intelligent manufacturing, technology research and development, energy management, and demonstration display. After the completion of the project, it will significantly enhance the level and reputation of Fenyi County in the field of lithium-ion new energy industry, and generate a strong chain leader effect, helping Fenyi form a more complete lithium-ion industry chain.  

In recent years, Fenyi County has made the lithium battery new energy industry the first industry of an industrial strong county, with a chain layout of the lithium battery ecosystem, creating battery grade lithium hydroxide, lithium carbonate, lithium-ion batteries and related supporting industries, and successfully creating a provincial-level lithium battery new energy industry cluster. At present, Fenyi has formed a complete vertical industrial chain of "lithium mining and selection lithium salt material production lithium battery supporting lithium battery manufacturing and energy storage", and the annual production capacity of lithium salt has been increased to over 70000 tons.  

As a leading enterprise in the global lithium resources field, Ganfeng Lithium has the advantage of integrating the entire industry chain, from lithium mining to battery manufacturing to recycling, and has built a technological closed loop. The company is seizing the technological high ground in the field of solid-state batteries and plans to launch the second generation solid-liquid hybrid battery with an energy density of 400Wh/kg in 2023, which is the largest solid-state battery base in China.
