On February 1st local time, the mining line project of the western railway in Algeria, constructed by China Railway Construction, was officially opened to traffic.

This project is the first desert heavy-duty railway built by a Chinese enterprise in Africa, with a total length of 950 kilometers and crossing the Sahara Desert. Among them, China Railway Construction and local state-owned enterprises undertook 575 kilometers, becoming the largest infrastructure project of Chinese enterprises in Africa.

Chinese builders and local people worked together to overcome temperatures of over 50 degrees Celsius and sandstorms, and opened up a major transportation channel for local iron ore, providing a strong engine for the economic development of Africa.Editor/Yang Meiling
