On March 26th, a freight train fully loaded with polyvinyl chloride departed from the quasi northeast station in Xinjiang and will be transported to Vietnam through the Friendship Pass port in Pingxiang, Guangxi. This is the first Western Land Sea New Corridor freight train to be launched in Xinjiang in 2026, marking a further expansion of the international logistics channel between Xinjiang and ASEAN.  

The Western Land Sea New Corridor, with Chongqing as its operational center, connects western China with the ASEAN market. In the past, goods from Xinjiang needed to be transported eastward to coastal ports before going out to sea. Nowadays, through this channel, goods can be transported directly by railway to ports in Guangxi and Yunnan, greatly reducing transportation time and improving logistics stability. The Xinjiang local chemical products carried by this special train are a concrete practice of utilizing this advantage to explore the ASEAN market.

Railway transportation has become a reliable choice for cross-border transportation for enterprises due to its safety, stability, and strong timeliness. The Xinjiang railway department stated that on the basis of continuing to operate the China Europe Central Asia freight trains, it plans to incorporate characteristic sources of chemical and agricultural products into the normalized transportation system of the Western Land Sea New Corridor in the future, further ensuring smooth international supply chains and serving China ASEAN economic and trade cooperation.
