On April 10, 2026, Minister of Commerce Wang Wentao met with visiting Serbian Minister of Foreign and Domestic Trade Lazarevic in Beijing, and the two sides exchanged in-depth views on developing economic and trade relations between China and Serbia.

Wang Wentao stated that under the strategic guidance of the two heads of state, China Serbia economic and trade cooperation has become increasingly close, bilateral trade has grown rapidly, investment cooperation has continued to deepen, and significant achievements have been made in major project cooperation. China is willing to strengthen the alignment between the 15th Five Year Plan and Serbia's 2030 National Development Strategy, expand imports from Serbia, and continuously deepen cooperation in areas such as green development, digital economy, and supply chain. China welcomes Serbian enterprises to continue participating in important exhibitions such as the China International Import Expo and the China Central and Eastern European Countries Expo, promoting stable and far-reaching economic and trade cooperation between China and Serbia, as well as China Central and Eastern European countries.

Lazarevic stated that China is Serbia's most important and reliable economic and trade partner.
