Kazakhstan to Promote Natural Gas Popularization by 2026

Kazakhstan is continuously promoting the nationwide popularization of natural gas in 2026, aiming to further improve the coverage of natural gas for residents.

Currently, about 13 million people in the country have access to natural gas. According to the plan, by the end of 2026, the national natural gas coverage rate will increase to 64.3%, which is higher than the 62.4% in 2025. In 2026, Kazakhstan will simultaneously implement 40 natural gas gasification projects nationwide. After all these projects are completed, it is expected that 10 residential areas and over 32000 residents will smoothly access the natural gas network, achieving convenient gas use.

The gasification project implemented this time covers multiple regions, including Aktobe Oblast, West Kazakhstan Oblast, Janbuhr Oblast, Karaganda Oblast, Kustana Oblast, Kizillorda Oblast, Mangystau Oblast, Turkestan Oblast, as well as Ultau Oblast and Jet Suzhou. At the same time, as a national key energy infrastructure project, the construction of the second phase of the Beineu Bozoi Chimkent trunk gas pipeline is also progressing in an orderly manner. According to the established plan, the linear main construction of the gas pipeline will be completed by the end of 2026.
