On April 17, 2026, deep in the Dubai Desert, a 262 meter heat collection tower reflected a dazzling white light under the scorching sun, and 70000 solar mirrors rotated day by day like sunflowers. Zhao Hui, the project manager of Shanghai Electric Dubai Thermal Power, stood under the tower and looked at the mirror field, which is equivalent to 6000 football fields, and said, "We left the sun at night

Four world records have been broken

The fourth phase of the Maktoum Solar Park project has rewritten the history of global solar thermal power generation with a shocking set of numbers: the largest single unit scale, the highest collection tower, the largest heat storage capacity, and the longest continuous operation days of trough units. More than 6000 sets of trough type collectors and tower type solar thermal systems operate in synergy, achieving full capacity grid connected commercial operation by 2024.

Wind power array synchronously generates power

In the Gobi Desert of Abu Dhabi, the first utility level wind power project in the United Arab Emirates undertaken by China Power Construction has been operating stably for nearly three years. The total installed capacity of 23 wind turbines is 117.5 megawatts, with each unit generating approximately 5000 kilowatt hours of electricity per hour of operation. The two wind and solar projects reduce emissions by over 2.5 million tons annually, equivalent to planting millions of trees in the desert. Summit mechanism locks in green track

The second China Arab States Summit will be held in Beijing in 2026. Zhao Hui and Li Junqi, Vice President of Northeast Africa at China Power Construction Corporation, both believe that the cooperation between the two sides is shifting from individual projects to deepening systems - new energy distribution and storage, smart grids, and green hydrogen coupling will become the key words in the next stage. From selling equipment to jointly building rules, the gears of China Arab energy cooperation are biting deeper.Editor/Gao Xue
