Recently, China Chemical Engineering Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Yulin Coal Chemical Company, a subsidiary of Yanchang Petroleum Group, held a signing ceremony to officially finalize the EPC general contracting cooperation for the first phase of the ethanol acetic acid downstream product project. This signing marks a solid and crucial step in the transformation of Yulin's coal chemical industry from traditional fields to high-end new material fields.

The project is located in the Coal Chemical Industrial Zone of Yuheng Industrial Park, with a total investment of 6.868 billion yuan and a total land area of 53.96 hectares. The project plans to construct a series of high-end production facilities, including 300000 tons/year of vinyl acetate, 30000 tons/year of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, 50000 tons/year of vinyl oil, 50000 tons/year of alpha olefin, and 100000 tons/POE. At the same time, supporting public works, auxiliary production facilities, and pre plant infrastructure will be built to establish a complete industrial supporting system.

The relevant person in charge of Yulin Coal Chemical Company stated that the project relies on the existing methanol and acetic acid production capacity advantages of Yuheng Industrial Park, strictly follows the development concept of "supplementing, strengthening, and extending the chain", focuses on the high-end new materials field, and strives to build the only domestic full industry chain from coal to POE, successfully filling the market gap of high-end fine coal chemical new materials products in the northwest region. The implementation of this project will help enterprises break the dilemma of low added value of traditional coal chemical products, and at the same time assist Yulin City in building a national level modern coal chemical industry cluster, enhancing the core competitiveness of regional industries. The products produced by this project, such as vinyl acetate, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene, POE, etc., can be widely used in various fields such as photovoltaic packaging, automotive lightweighting, medical consumables, high-end packaging, etc. It will effectively solve the problem of China's dependence on imported high-end polyolefin materials and enhance China's independent guarantee capability for high-end new materials.
