On April 24, 2026, The 11th China Space Day Celebration was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province. The theme of this event was "Seven Ranks Asking for the Heavenly Road and Joining Hands to Explore the Nine Heavens", coinciding with the 70th anniversary of the founding of China's aerospace industry and the 10th anniversary of General Secretary Xi Jinping's important instructions for the first "China Space Day". Cangyu Space unveiled the world's first commercial high orbit relay satellite, "Cangyu-1," at the commercial aerospace exhibition area.

Building a strong space-based relay system with high orbit for global connectivity

Leaders from the Commercial Space Department of the National Space Administration and the Office of the Military Civilian Integration Development Committee of the Shenzhen Municipal Committee visited the booth to gain a detailed understanding of the launch plan for the Cangyu Constellation network, and provided suggestions on industrial applications, business promotion, policy guidance, and other aspects.

As the world's first commercial geosynchronous orbit relay satellite, Cangyu-1 has a designed lifespan of 8 years and a dry weight of about 1.7 tons. The satellite has the characteristics of high-speed transmission, multi-user high time access, and data directional delivery. It can provide space-based measurement and control, data relay, and information interconnection services for global users such as carrier rockets, low orbit satellites, and long endurance drones. According to the launch plan, the Cangyu-1 satellite system is scheduled to officially open for service in 2027.
