On May 27, 2026, the "China's' Artificial Intelligence+'Energy Development Report 2026" organized and compiled by the National Energy Administration was officially released. This is the first annual report in China's energy sector that focuses on the integration of artificial intelligence and energy development. It systematically reviews the current status of global and domestic industrial development, assesses the overall trend of development, and makes plans for the next stage of key work.

The report shows that the rapid development of artificial intelligence is driving a sustained increase in global demand for computing power facilities. According to the International Energy Agency's forecast, global data center electricity consumption will nearly double by 2030 compared to 2025. By 2025, China has built 42 intelligent computing clusters with a capacity of 10000 kilowatts, and the total electricity consumption of national computing centers will reach 170 billion kilowatt hours.

At the application level of industry big models, dozens of exclusive big models have been put into practical use in the domestic energy field, covering multiple sub sectors such as power grid, new energy, hydro thermal nuclear power, coal, oil and gas.Editor/Gong Ziwei
