On May 27, 2026, heavy news came from the coast of the East China Sea. As the hands of Zhejiang Port Group and international shipping giants are tightly held together, a green shipping network spanning Europe and Asia is accelerating. At Ningbo Zhoushan Port, China not only demonstrated its "hardcore" strength in the global low-carbon transformation of shipping, but also submitted an Eastern solution to address climate change with practical actions.

Multiple countries join forces to establish three new corridors

With the support of the Water Transport Institute, Zhejiang Port Group has joined hands with port and shipping giants from Spain, France, the United Kingdom, and the United Arab Emirates to jointly launch a joint construction initiative. The newly launched three shipping routes from Ningbo Zhoushan Port to Felixstowe Port, Abu Dhabi, and Algeciras Port signify that China's participation in the international green shipping corridor initiative has increased to 25, further expanding the scope of cooperation.

Release annual decarbonization guidelines

At the meeting, Zhejiang Port Group and the Ministry of Water Transport jointly released the 2025 joint construction report and decarbonization guidelines. The document clearly states that we must adhere to consensus building and deepen international collaboration, focus on enhancing supply chain resilience, deepen corridor construction, expand cooperation networks to cover major global shipping routes, and promote the full chain upgrade of green ports, green ships, and green fuel supply. Hong Kong and shipping executives jointly build a community of shared destiny

The action declaration of the High Level Roundtable Meeting on Maritime Silk Road Port and Shipping, released on the same day, emphasized that all parties will work together to layout a new energy and clean energy refueling network. This is not only a powerful contribution to the sustainable development of global transportation, but also demonstrates China's firm determination to deepen practical cooperation and build a community with a shared future for ports and shipping with other countries in the complex international situation.Editor/Gao Xue
