From January to April 2026, the market-oriented trading scale of green electricity in Beijing exceeded that of thermal power for the first time, with green electricity trading accounting for 63.63% of the total market-oriented trading volume, setting a new historical high. The latest data shows that the marketization trade of green power in Beijing reached 18.8 billion kWh in the previous April, with a year-on-year increase of 82.54%, of which 99.97% came from 14 provinces and regions, including Xinjiang, Xizang and Shanxi.

Wang Li, Deputy General Manager of the Capital Electric Power Trading Center, stated that the green power trading cycle has been significantly shortened this year. Transactions can be conducted on a monthly basis for multiple years, with a maximum of ten days for cross provincial and cross regional transactions. Transactions can be processed on a weekly basis in the Beijing Tianjin Tangshan region, significantly improving trading flexibility.

Next, Beijing will continue to expand the channels for green power to enter the city, and promote the extension of green power to key areas such as industrial parks and data centers. By 2026, the scale of green power imported from other provinces is expected to reach 45 billion kilowatt hours, and the capital's ability to ensure green power supply will continue to strengthen.Editor/Cheng Liting
