The morning sun shines on the desert of the Duqum Economic Zone in Oman, and several drilling rigs have already begun to roar. This once quiet land is now becoming the forefront of China Oman new energy cooperation. With the arrival of a winning bid notification letter at China Energy Engineering Shanxi Institute, the first specialized wind turbine manufacturing factory in the Gulf region has officially entered the construction phase; At the same time, in the southern province of Dhofar in Oman, the pile foundation construction of another wind farm has quietly begun - two fronts are advancing simultaneously, leaving a profound mark on Oman's new energy map for Chinese companies.

The first wind turbine factory in the bay has landed
The Mawarid wind turbine manufacturing plant project in Oman is located in the Dukum Special Economic Zone, with a total investment of over 200 million US dollars. Shanxi Institute will undertake the construction of an industrial plant and supporting facilities with a total area of approximately 90000 square meters in EPC mode, including blade workshop, wheel hub workshop, energy center, office building, comprehensive pipeline network, sewage treatment, and green roads. The project plans to have a total annual wind turbine capacity of 1000 megawatts and is expected to be completed and put into operation in 2027. After being put into operation, localized research and development, production, and supply of wind power equipment will be achieved, significantly reducing wind power construction costs, shortening supply cycles, and providing solid support for Oman's green hydrogen industry.

Southern wind power project starts construction
The Dhofar II 125 MW onshore wind power project has officially started construction in the southern province of Dhofar, Oman. The project has an installed capacity of 125 megawatts and includes wind farm design, equipment procurement, construction, commissioning, and post operation and maintenance services. It will also be accompanied by the construction of a 400 kV substation and approximately 3.7 kilometers of transmission lines. As a key clean energy infrastructure in the local area, the completion of the project will significantly optimize the regional energy structure, promote the development of renewable energy, and provide stable clean electricity for southern Oman.

Consolidate the advantageous position of dual projects
The smooth progress of the two projects marks the continuous deepening of China Energy Construction's layout in the Oman new energy market. Chinese companies are fully involved in Oman's energy transformation process, from manufacturing to power generation, from supply chain to terminal applications. Relying on the advantages of technology and full process management, the project team will ensure the schedule and quality, striving to build the two projects into benchmarks for green wind power in the Middle East, and injecting sustained momentum into Oman's 2040 vision.Editor/Yang Meiling
