As the global demand for AI computing power grows exponentially, Southeast Asia is becoming the next battlefield for super data centers. In June 2026, Singapore based data center platform Digital Edge reached a milestone at CGK Park in Wukasi, Indonesia - the first building CGK1 was officially topped out, and the largest single data center park power supply agreement in Indonesian history was signed: 1.45GW of electricity was directly supplied to 500MW of the park, which can be called a gamble on the future.

A power gamble that rewrites the landscape

The agreement signed between Digital Edge and PT PLN, the Indonesian national power company, provides 2 × 725MVA of power supply through dual independent feeders, designed specifically for the high resilience requirements of AI and cloud workloads. This is the largest power supply agreement ever reached for a single data center park in Indonesia. PLN President Darmawan Prasodjo stated that this cooperation aims to consolidate Indonesia's position as a digital economy hub in Southeast Asia. Digital Edge Indonesia CEO Stephanus Oscar bluntly stated that locking in electricity in advance is to provide the market with much-needed certainty for large-scale and AI deployment.

A green super park for the AI era

CGK Park is located in the GIIC Industrial Park in Wujiasi, with a total investment of 4.5 billion US dollars. It is Digital Edge's largest standalone project in the Asia Pacific region. The park will be constructed in stages, and CGK1 is expected to be put into operation in the fourth quarter of 2026. The second and third buildings will be put into operation in the first half of 2027. The design target PUE is only 1.25, aiming to achieve LEED certification and integrate recycled water systems with renewable energy, seeking a balance between computing power expansion and carbon emissions.

In March 2026, Digital Edge has secured a $665 million green loan - the largest in the Indonesian data center sector - to inject funds into the first phase of construction. The park is supported by a 100% underground fiber optic network provided by its wholly-owned subsidiary Indonet. It is less than 15 kilometers away from the Sikalan data center cluster and about 40 kilometers away from the city center EDGE1 and EDGE2, forming a complete urban edge computing layout. Keywords: data center, Southeast Asian digital economy hub

Currently, Digital Edge has 1.8GW of locked IT power capacity in four Asia Pacific countries. The landing of CGK Park means that this Singaporean giant is turning Southeast Asia into a new growth pole for global AI infrastructure through a model of electricity first, network supporting, and phased rolling.Editor/Cheng Liting
