In the scorching summer of June, a special group of guests arrived by the banks of the Yujiang River. Representatives from Guangzhou Port Authority and Guangzhou Port Group, along with Guigang Commerce Bureau, over 40 local production enterprises, and more than ten shipping companies, gathered together. As the red silk fell, the plaque of "Guangzhou Port Guigang Inland Port" was officially unveiled. For Guigang manufacturing enterprises that have been worried about export logistics all year round, this means that they no longer need to travel to multiple places to return containers and declare customs - the port functions of booking, signing documents, and picking up and returning containers at Guangzhou Port have been directly moved to their doorstep.

The New Value of Guigang's Connection with the Greater Bay Area in terms of Location

Guigang, known as the "Pearl of the Xijiang River", is located at the junction of southern and southwestern China, facing Guangdong, Hong Kong, and Macao, and backed by the southwest. It is an important node of the new land sea corridor in the western region. Li Mingzhong, Deputy General Manager of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., pointed out that Guigang has significant geographical advantages. Setting up an inland port here can not only serve local advantageous industries such as metallurgy, building materials, and electric vehicles to "borrow from the port to go abroad", but also enable the distribution of goods from Southwest China to Nansha Port Area through Guigang, thereby connecting Guangzhou Port's 183 foreign trade routes to more than 400 ports around the world.

The scale effect of sea rail intermodal trains is emerging

Starting from 2026, the "Guigang Nansha Port" sea rail intermodal train has been operating on a regular basis, with stable operation of two trains per week. From January to May 2026, a total of 2400 standard containers will be completed on this line. Compared with the traditional road to port mode, sea rail intermodal transportation can effectively compress inland transportation time, reduce logistics costs for enterprises by about 30%, solve the pain points of inconvenient container turnover and few return points for foreign trade enterprises in the past, and provide logistics support for Guigang City's impressive performance of over 60% year-on-year growth in foreign trade exports in the first four months of this year.keywords:Dry port international logistics network

Guangzhou Port weaving dense pan pearl logistics network

In recent years, Guangzhou Port has relied on the core hub of Nansha Port Area to accelerate the construction of a comprehensive logistics system of "hub+channel+network" and transform into a port integrated logistics service provider. As of now, 38 inland ports and offices have been established in the Pan Pearl River Delta region, and 40 sea rail intermodal trains have been stably operated, forming a land sea intermodal network covering major cargo gathering areas. The addition of inland ports in Guigang will further promote the upgrading of the sea rail intermodal transportation channel from Guigang to Guangzhou Port, injecting new momentum into the deep integration of industrial and supply chains in Guigang and Guangzhou, and promoting high-quality regional economic development.Editor/Yang Meiling
