A large $1.7 billion order falls in the Middle East

On June 13, 2026, the China Energy Engineering Consortium officially signed the EPC contract for the Taweelah C independent power station in Abu Dhabi, with a project amount of 1.7 billion US dollars.

As the general EPC contractor, the enterprise will undertake the full chain services of design, equipment supply, civil engineering installation, etc. for the 2.6 GW combined cycle gas turbine power plant, with an overall construction period of 32 months. This is the largest single electricity order won by a Chinese energy engineering company in the Gulf region in 2026.

Multinational consortium collaborates to promote projects

This project is authorized for development by EWEC, with partners including multinational corporations such as Saudi Arabia's Aljomaih and Singapore's Shengke Industries.
