In the wave of China's new energy industry chain accelerating towards the northwest hinterland, the roar of construction once again resounds on the Ordos Plateau in Inner Mongolia. Recently, the second phase of the integrated project of 80000 tons of lithium-ion battery negative electrode materials with an annual output of 300 million yuan invested by Ordos New Innovation Materials Co., Ltd. has officially started construction. This is not only an expansion of the company's own territory, but also a key milestone in the transfer of China's lithium battery core material production capacity to wind and solar resource rich areas.

Complete the key steps of graphitization and pre carbonization
This expansion is not a simple scale stacking, but a deep completion of the process chain. The project relies on the existing factory building in Phase I and will build a production line with an annual output of 30000 tons of graphitized negative electrode materials and a production line with an annual output of 40000 tons of pre carbonized negative electrode materials. By adding pre carbonization processing steps, the enterprise has completely broken through the key technical barriers from raw materials to finished products. It is expected to be put into operation first in October 2026, which will greatly alleviate the supply pressure of high-end negative electrode materials. 2.7 billion yuan full industry chain layout formed
Looking at the overall situation, this is a full industry chain layout with a total investment of 2.7 billion yuan. With the advancement of the second phase of the project, combined with the production capacity of 35000 tons of the first phase that was put into operation in May 2024, the cluster effect of the lithium battery industry in Ordos is becoming apparent. This not only provides a solid material foundation for new energy vehicles, smart phones, digital computers and other fields, but also marks that China's green manufacturing is transforming advanced energy and chemical technologies into competitive advantages in the global market through the the Belt and Road network.Editor/Gao Xue
