The scale of China's logistics market has been the world's largest for 10 consecutive years, but the transportation links are not smooth and the logistics costs are high, which has become a bottleneck restricting economic development. Currently, the country is accelerating the construction of a logistics network.

In recent years, the national highway and railway networks have accelerated their improvement. In contrast, the shortcomings of water transportation have become increasingly prominent: the waterway level is low, and the connection between main and branch lines is not smooth. Therefore, filling the gaps has become a key task in the construction of logistics networks. Excavate a new canal and make every effort to unblock the sea blockages of rivers; Dredging of waterways, upgrading of main and branch lines, and unblocking the last kilometer of waterways.

The water transportation network is constantly expanding, and a new type of logistics network with global collaboration is also accelerating its deployment. In order to solve the problem of poor connection between multiple transportation modes, a new round of comprehensive freight hub reinforcement and upgrading actions will be launched in about 30 cities. In the future, they will form a linkage with about 400 freight hubs in 37 cities across the country, making waterway and railway intermodal transportation more economical, railway and road intermodal transportation more efficient, and road and air intermodal transportation more convenient.

At the same time, the national level logistics big data platform being built will coordinate and share data from various transportation modes such as highways, railways, water transportation, and aviation, to find the optimal path for goods circulation and achieve one box to one and one order to pass. By 2027, the total logistics cost of the whole society is expected to save nearly 100 billion yuan.

The continuously woven and optimized logistics network has also expanded new space for economic development. During the 15th Five Year Plan period, the construction of logistics networks will not only drive effective investment in the logistics sector, but also expand investment in areas such as logistics robots, intelligent warehousing, and new energy heavy-duty trucks. This logistics network is deeply integrated with manufacturing, agriculture, and commerce industries, and new positions such as smart warehouse operators and intelligent dispatchers are also emerging at an accelerated pace.
