Relying on well-established port facilities to open up South American trade channels, the logistics in northeastern Brazil has ushered in a new upgrade node. Recently, APM Terminals announced that its new container terminal in Suape, located in northeastern Brazil, has officially commenced operations.

Superior hardware configuration of the dock
APM Terminals Suape covers an area of 495000 square meters, with a 430 meter long dock shoreline and a channel draft of 15.5 meters, capable of accommodating large container ships for docking operations.
Maersk Terminal introduces that it is the first fully electrified container terminal in Latin America, with a total investment of 350 million US dollars. The initial design has an annual throughput of 400000 TEUs, which can increase the container throughput of Suape Port by 55%.

Daniel Ross, the regional head of Maersk Terminal, stated that the new terminal demonstrates the company's long-term optimism towards the Brazilian economy and its determination to continue strengthening local logistics infrastructure. He mentioned that this terminal significantly expands the logistics capacity in northeastern Brazil, connects Brazil with the world's main trade routes, and relies on fully electrified operations to improve the operational level of regional ports.
