Along the rolling hills of the Lianhuo Expressway in Gongyi, photovoltaic panels are orderly laid out along the slopes, and the roads with traffic flow and clean energy devices complement each other. The construction team of China Railway 16th Bureau Electrification Company has been rooted in this complex mountainous area for several months, overcoming multiple construction obstacles such as undulating slopes, dense traffic, and cultural relics protection areas, and steadily advancing construction with new technologies and new operating equipment. After undergoing scheme refinement, zoning construction, and multiple rounds of grid debugging, the entire source grid load storage system was successfully connected to the grid at full capacity on June 18th, and the idle highway space was truly transformed into a green energy base that can continuously produce green electricity.

Improving the Quality and Efficiency of Mountain Campaign
The project is located in a hilly area with varying slope gradients and complex geology. Continuous high-speed traffic causes significant cross construction interference. The construction team has finalized the partition operation and advanced the full process control construction strategy, with standardized visual management throughout the process to ensure safety and quality progress. Innovative construction utilizes the integrated technology of long spiral pile foundation and specialized pile driver, eliminating the need for large-scale excavation of mountains, maintaining the stability of existing vegetation and slopes along the route, and compressing the foundation construction period. On site use of unmanned aerial vehicles to transport small equipment for material transportation has reduced the risk of manual handling on slopes and significantly improved the speed of material transportation. The grid connected lines passing through the cultural relics protection area are renovated based on the existing overhead lines to reduce the impact of the project on the surrounding environment of the cultural relics.

Green electricity helps reduce carbon emissions on-site
This project is a landmark demonstration project of Henan's transportation and new energy. It utilizes the central isolation zone of the Lianhuo Jiaotang Expressway slope interchange to install photovoltaics, with a total installed capacity of 22.98 megawatts. Six grid connected circuits are connected to two local substations. Relying on the integrated operation mode of source, network, load and storage, clean energy is produced and consumed locally. The project can generate 23.6 million kilowatt hours of clean electricity annually, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 149000 tons, effectively alleviate the electricity cost and carbon reduction task pressure of high energy consuming enterprises in the region, and achieve bidirectional adaptation between transportation resources and industrial electricity demand. Grid connected tree model
The connection of six grid connected circuits to the enterprise power grid is a key link in the project. The construction unit should coordinate with the power grid management department in advance, repeatedly optimize the debugging plan, conduct multiple rounds of simulation testing, monitor various power grid parameters in real time, accurately control the grid connection timing, and smoothly complete the grid connection operation. After the project is put into use, a high-speed space development park will be established to integrate green electricity and energy storage to ensure a complete industrial chain for power supply, activate idle land resources on highways, solve the pain points of low-carbon industrial development, form a replicable and promotable construction model, promote regional energy structure transformation, and deepen the integration of green transportation and new energy industries.Editor/Li Xiaohua
